09.40 Arriving at Tallinn harbour. Luggage will be put in the bus (bus arrives from Riga).
10.00 Arrival to the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, tour at the museum and its exhibitions.
12.00 Visiting the Foreign Art Museum (Kadriorg Palace and Park) Estonian newly opened Art Museum (KUMU).
13.30 Lunch at KUMU
14.30 Designers workshops in the Old Town.
17.00 Departure from Tallinn 19.00 Dinner in Parnu (on the way to Riga)
20.30 Departure to Riga (by bus)
23.30 - 24.00 Arrival in Riga

09.00 - 10.30 Museum of Decorative Arts and Design. Skarnu St. 10/20: Welcome drink, registration. Visiting permanent and temporary exhibitions. Theme: Latvian Decorative arts & Design. Meeting with the ICOM Latvia board members
10.30 - 13.00 Old Riga on foot: visiting St. Peter's Church (the history of the Old Riga), the Mentzendorff"s House (City-Dweller's House-Museum, 17-18th c. with unique interiours), the renovated House of the Blackhead's Brotherhood (its history dating back to the 14th c.). Silver in private collections. Riga by bus - departing from the State Opera. Theme: "Art Nouveau architecture and Interiors" (including Janis Rozental's Museum, etc. ) under the guidance of Prof. Janis Krastin . (Bus returns to the Museum of Occupation).
13.00 - 14.30 Lunch - reception at the Riga City Council.
15.00 - 17.30 Conference "What Modern was? The Invention of a New Design Culture 1700-2000" with coffee-break in between. (Hotel "Konventa Seta", St.Georges Hall) Coffee and cakes.
18.00 Departure by bus to Pilsrundale (on the way - short stop at Bauskas Castle), Bauskas region to visit the Rundale Palace Museum (designed by the famous architect F.B. Rastrelli as a summer residence for the Duke of Curland Ernst Johann Biron (18th c.). Meeting with the director Dr. Imants Lancmanis. Palace interiors and collection of decorative arts.
20.30 Dinner in the Rundale Palace Museum.
24.00 Returning back to Riga around

09.30-12.30 Visititing Museums and collections: Museum of the Riga History and Navigation - one of the oldest Museums in Europe, founded on the basisi of Nikolaus von Himsel's private collection, opened in 1773. Insight in Museum's collections of silver, furniture, design history, etc.. Visit to the connected to the museum the Dom Church and the Cross Gallery. Visits to the Riga Castle (14th-18th c. architectural monument), Exhibition Hall "Arsenals" (19th c., style of late Russian classicism). Exhibition " Art in Latvia after the World War II.
13.00-14.30 lunch at the restaurant "Lido" with the Latvian national cuisine (departure from the Exhibition hall "Arsenals" by bus).
15.00-17.00 Buss tour "Riga Empire Style Church Interiors" (Jesus Church, Orthodox Church, Alexander Nevsky Church) under the guidance of Dr. Ojars Sparitis. Contemporary design in galleries and workshops (places will be specified).
18.30 Departure to Jurmala. Jurmala - an old resort town. Jurmala and its famous historical wooden architecture (e.g. Jomas Street, Jurmala City Museum, etc.) under the guidance of Dr. Rihards Petersons).
20.30 Farewell dinner at "The Beach Hotel" restorant in Majori (Jurmala).
